How Telehealth is Transforming Healthcare in Indonesia
There are only three doctors for every ten thousand Indonesians. This shortage of medical practitioners, combined with heavy inner-city traffic, limits access to healthcare for those in need.
Seeing these problems first-hand, Jonathon Sudharta, a senior executive in a large healthcare group, was inspired to find a solution. This led to the creation of HaloDoc, an app that enables patients to contact healthcare professionals directly via text chat, voice or video call. It also allows prescriptions to be issued and delivered directly to patients, saving them time travelling and waiting for a consultation.
