Seeing is Believing

Preventable blindness indiscriminately affects millions of people worldwide, men and women, adults and children. This affliction severely impacts not the sufferer’s quality of life, but that of their loved ones, turning family members into caregivers. Tragically, whilst certain types of blindness are entirely treatable, the appropriate facilities are not always affordable or accessible.

Fortunately in Mathura, a city 50 miles north of Agra in North India, there is hope. Thanks to a partnership between Standard Chartered and Brij Healthcare and Research Centre, a special new eye care centre has been built is already changing lives, offering patients the best available treatment to restore their vision.

Working together with the inspirational doctors and nurses at Brij Healthcare and Research Centre, Standard Chartered aims to make preventable blindness history.
